Our Covid Year

There’s no sugarcoating the fact that 2020 wasn’t exactly a year of adventure and excitement for most of us. Anxiety, yes. Depression, often. Death… more than most of us are accustomed to.

We distanced, we masked. Stockpiled hand sanitizer, learned to work remotely. Some still had to go in. They sold us food, cooked for us, and cared for us when we were sick. Then they were left to deal with the psychological consequences of losing so many. We lost some of them.

Everyone knows what PPE means now

There is hope now, in the form of vaccines, but we must remain both vigilant and patient in the face of slow vaccine production, distribution, and rollout. We must deal with an unfortunate, troubling, and dangerous mistrust of science. We must succeed.

I yearn to explore, but I will not do so at the expense of others. Not those I know, nor those who are strange to me. I don’t like it, but I can wait.

I don’t know if this business has survived the pandemic, but I appreciate the sentiment.

I have a screenplay I need to finish, a film company to get funded, this blog to write, a podcast to edit, a nonprofit to fundraiser for, and a full time job. As anxious as I am to leave my house, I have plenty to do. I implore everyone to delve into your own projects. For now. For us all.

We are indeed all in this together. Stay strong, friends.

Our adventures won’t be in video games forever.
